Here at The River Church, we make a big deal about discipleship. That’s because Jesus said,
Discipleship is the process of following Jesus to become more like Him. Paul laid out what that process looks like when he told his disciple, Timothy,
This shows us that discipleship is both relational and reproducible. It’s God’s Word (which teaches us how to follow Jesus) being taught in relationship, in a way where the leader helps the disciple learn to make more disciples.
That’s what happens in D-Groups, which is short for “discipleship groups.”
If you’re interested in joining a D-Group, the first step is to join a Life Group. Then, as you faithfully attend Life Group, discuss with the Group Leader how you can join a D-Group.
Finally, we believe everyone belongs in D-Groups. To paraphrase the words of Daniel Im,
Discipleship isn’t a program to finish, but a life-long process of moving towards Jesus. If you’re not in a D-Group yet, pray about starting the process today! If you have any further questions about the process, feel free to reach out to Pastor George.
